Deserving lovers

She wished to be together
given any chance,
and yet
there she was,
he was some place else;
she wished to hold him forever
entice him with words
or actions
whatever that might work,
yet he was somplace else;
she understood today
she could have followed him
and yet
here she is
savoring the love of one,
who deserves her,here and now.
