she lost love to her insecurities
to low self esteem,to baseless fears
she tapped to hard,a love so glassy
she lost love to her insecurities
the tragic conversations,a bit too many
he listened, but maybe she did not hear.
she lost love to her insecurities
to low self esteem,to baseless fears.

ReplyDeletewe lose much when self-doubt is at the wheel. Opportunities, hints to who we really are...who THEY really are...if a personal recollection, I do hope you've moved beyond...No Fear!
ReplyDeletetough... it happens all to often... powerful picture painted
ReplyDeleteNot that I know anything if insecurities, watch for lightning, but a very good write with clear image and presentation of thought. Insecurites I have a plenty, I just hope I never lose the strength to step beyond them. Relations are open to so many attacks, and you are right, insecurity does not help.
ReplyDeleteHi Lady N. ~~ This is deep. Deeper than I can relate. The closest thing I have felt in these realms is a lack of caring.
ReplyDeleteWhen that is lost then love is lost and it is over. At least for us, my first love of thirteen years enduring.
..
...your refrain's quite a line to evoke much emotion... enjoyed it.. smiles...
ReplyDeletethe repetition at the end is the perfect bookend for your wonderful poem, Nimue.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!

ReplyDeleteglassy love...so beautiful sister. Its so breakable and delicate and our grip often to tight. It seems when we remember love flows through open hands the joy refills. Send peace and love ~ Rose
DeleteSad, but often true! Insecurity leads to tragic situations.
ReplyDeleteso sad and yes as Harshad said far too often true. if only we could learn to love ourselves... it would be far easier for the love of others for us to last.
